This site is dedicated to the search for, and recording of, information regarding the ancestry of the Howard family. As is natural for this type of site and information, we can also expect to see a large number of other family branches and surnames.
On this site, you will find (primarily) the lines related to Howard, Hearns, Noordman, Claus, Smith, Root, Luffman, and Maracle. At last count, there were approximately 125 different surnames found in various branches of our Tree, so you may be surprised at who might turn up!
My wife Deb, and I began recording some of this information 20+ years ago, while we still lived in Southern Ontario, where both the Howard and Hearns families have lived for some generations, mainly in the areas of the Hastings, Lennox & Addington, and Prince Edward counties. When we moved to Western Canada in the early 1980's, physically limiting our explorations, we generally quit researching.
Deb's dad began researching the Hearns line in earnest on his retirement, and added considerable data to the base data we had gathered. With this, and the advent of enormous amounts of information available online, we again took up the task of adding tidbits of history to what we had. Reaching middle-age ourselves may have had a little to do with it as well!
Hopefully, we have some information here that may help you in the search for your own ancestors. And hopefully, we can encourage you to assist us with any of your own history that may help with finding ours.
