Listed father as Francis Rainey and mother as Ann "Nanny". Source RT Vol 6, p. 159. From another source who got into the county marriage documents the document does not state Williamson’s birth or reference his age, his birthplace, and makes no reference to his mother of father, the only reference to Francis Rainey was as security.

Isham Rainey who married Betsy Morgan is definitely not the son of Williamson
Rainey, Sr. I have been researching the Raineys of Mecklenburg County for
several years and live close by. Isham Rainey son of Williamson Rainey,Sr.
died in Sussex County,Virginia. Joseph Hartley appointed administrator of his
estate on Dec. 29,1815 in Sussex County,VA. Wife listed as Polly(have never
determined a surname, but would expect related to Winfield family in some
way) with bondsmen listed as William Rivers and Isham Nance.This was Isham
Nance, Jr. who had married Nancy Rainey,sister of Isham Rainey. Isham listed
as single on 1810 census. Expect he married in Sussex or Dinwiddie County and
marriage record lost and I have given up looking for anything further on
this. More proof found when Isham's daughter Sarah Anne Rainey Winfield,wife
of Richard Winfield of Sussex County claimed her share of her father's part
of Williamson Rainey,Sr's estate. Sarah was born same year her father died.
Her brother was Henry Rainey, they were the two children of Isham Rainey
mentioned in Williamson's will. I have an opinion of who Isham Rainey who
married Betsy Morgan belonged to, but have not been able to prove it yet. I
am currently researching William W. Rainey who married Christian Willis and
died 1798 was most likely the father of the earlier Isham(born abt. 1863) who
married Betsy Morgan. He is too old to have been Williamson's son as
Williamson married Edith Wright Morgan 21 Jan 1789 and Isham married
Elizabeth "Betsy" Morgan in 1779. There are more on the Raineys you mentioned
I will write you about that needs correction.

James was drafted on April
28, 1864 in Atlanta by Capt. W.L. Hubbard. His term was For the war.He
was described as being 17 years old, 5’2” with a dark complexion, dark eyes,
dark hair. He listed his occupation as farmer.
He was present for duty from April to Sept. 1, 1864. For September and
October, 1864, he is shown as being absent on furlough surgeon’s
certificate.
But he was apparently back at the camp and surrendered in April, 1865 at
Albany, according to D.C. Williams who testified in 1910 for his widow’s
pension.
James is listed as J.A. Buffington in the Andersonville Prison records. His
code number is 618.
After the war, James moved back to Pike Co. and married Mary Jane (Bankston)
Kennedy, Sept. 23, 1866. She was apparently a war widow of Reuben J. Kennedy
who served in the 3rd Ga. Inf. Battl., Co. E. Family legend holds that Mr.
Kennedy knew he was dying and asked James Albert to look after his wife.
James Albert later moved to Floyd County, Ga. in the Texas Valley area where
the Buffington family took root over the next 100 years.
James Albert died May 29, 1906 in Floyd County. Mary Jane died Nov. 11, 1921
in Floyd County, destitute. Her final war pension had to pay her doctor’s
bill and burial expenses.
Died in infancy.
