Richard Law, son of John D. and Dorothy Lowry Law, was born Oct. 14, 1866, at Smithsburg, Md., and passed away Oct. 6, 1936, at the age of 69 years,11 months and 22 days, at his home in Tampico. He was one of a family of 13 children, he spent his early life in Maryland, coming to Sterling, Ill., when 20 years old. He was united in marriage to Etta Delp of Prairieville, Aug. 31, 1897 at the M. E. church in Dixon. To this union were born eight children, all of whom survive. They are Clifford E., Lester C., Mrs. Eldon Purcell and Mrs. Alice Hummell, all of Rock Falls, Samuel A. of Yorkville, John D. of Glenview, Tracy E. of Tampico, and Janet in the home; two sisters Emma and Rebecca of Smithsburg, Md., numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. They made their home in Prairieville for a time, later moving to Hume Center. March 1, 1910 the family moved to Tampico, where they have since resided. NOTE: Richard is Tracy E. Law |
