Notes by Clyde Senger
1. Orange SKINNER apparently was born 19 Aug.(or Nov/Dec?) 1791, Lyme NH and died 19 Jan. 1858 age 66 years, 1 month (from tombstone) near Bancroft, Michigan, the son of Joseph Skinner (1745-1840) (according to the "Skinner Kinsmen " p 125). An Orange Skinner married Tarzah or Turgy Bartlett 9 Oct 1811 in Norwich, Windsor Co., VT (more or less across the river from Lyme NH). Tarzah is reported to be the daughter of Samuel Bartlett and Irena or Irene Strong of Norwich. Orange Skinner settled in Shiawassee Co. Michigan about 1832. The tombstone in the Bancroft Cemetery, Shiawassee Co. MI has Turgy, wife of Orange Skinner, died May 31, 1861, age 68 years.
2. Apparently Ama married Court HUTCHINGS and was living in Bennington twp. Shiawassee Co. Michigan in 1860 (census page 857).
3. A Willis SKINNER was living in Shiawassee twp. Shiawassee Co. Michigan in 1900 (census page 280).
4. A Quartus SKINNER was living in Bennington twp. Shiawassee Co. Michigan in 1850 (census page 68, residence 73).
5. Hyrum SKINNER was born (according to obituary) Cattaraugus Co. New York. He married 21 February 1858 Elizabeth FRIEND in Antrim, Shiawassee Co. Michigan from their wedding ertificate). They lived in Antrim twp. until about 1889 when they moved to Tallman near Lebanon, Linn Co., Oregon. He died there 5 June 1911 and she died 22 April 1915.
6. Orange J. SKINNER, tombstone apparently in the Bancroft Cemetery, Shiawassee Co. MI has born Apr 3, 1836, died July 22 1885.
