1. ELANOR JANE ROBERTSON was born 06 March 1808 in VA, and died 09 September 1883.
She married She married
(1) ROBERT CROWDER.
(2) NATHAN ALDRIDGE.

Due to the fact that Eleanor's oldest daughter had Robertson for a middle name, I am was sure that Eleanor's maiden name was Robertson. This was later proven to be true by marriage recordsand court documents.
Janthy's name was found on a paper listing her date of death. This paper was in the family Bible of John Lewis, her second husband.
In the same Bible was a paper which had a small braid of Eleanor's hair and listed her death date.

Notes for ROBERT CROWDER
Records found show a Robert A CROWDER married to Phoebe Moody, 1815, in Mecklenburg, County VA. They have a son, Henry Moody Crowder.  Henry and his wife Ann Pain Preston, are shown in census records living next to and near the Crowder daughters and their  families.   Robert A. Crowder is the  husband of Elanor and father of Janthy, Lillie and Mary Frances Crowder. Robert and Eleanor were married, 23 Jun 1826, in Caswell Co, NC

Henry and his wife Ann had a son John Calvin Giles Crowder. Born 1853 in AL. Married, 1887,  James Lillian Zeller, b 1861

John and Lillian had a daughter Annie Preston Crowder, born in Opelika, AL, who was a member of DAR.

Her ancestor was William MOODY, of VA. Father of Phoebe MOODY

William MOODY served, 1776, in Capt. John Steed's Company, Col. John Nevill's 3rd and 4th Virginia regiments.  He was born and died in VA.
