This page contains research on the family of Abraham and Tabitha Adderly, who are believed to be one of the earliest links of what will become a large, thriving Adderly/Adderley family in the Bahamas.
Cynthia Gorman of California, USA conducted and compiled most of the research associated with this line; however, the information on THIS part of the Rootsweb website is taken primarily from the Family History Library collection of William John Adderley and John Henry Adderley noted above, plus additional details on Bermudian Adderleys that Phil gathered in the Bermuda archives. Researchers should first refer to Cynthia�s information that she already submitted to Rootsweb.com, and then use the information in this website to support or provide additional content when appropriate. Some conjecture has been made in connecting certain individuals to this tree, namely putting Abraham Adderley (born bet. 1730-1750) as a son of Abraham Adderley (born 1695) and the great grandson of Abraham and Tabitha. In his notes, Phil Adderley says this: "There is no proof of this lineage, but I am persuaded that some familial links exist. The common ties lie close together via family inter-marriages between Eve & Adderley family lines in Bermuda. See ancestry of Abraham Eve, the husband of Martha Adderley."
It is also worth noting that, while no firm connection has yet been found to connect the line of Abraham Adderly to the other predominant Bermuda line of Thomas Adderley, there is a strong possibility a connection exists for us researchers to find!! Please, let me know if you are successful!
