Julia Janet Thomson (my
great grandmother) was born in East Maitland, NSW on December 30, 1847.
Julia
was the youngest daughter of James Thomson, James being a commissioner for
crown lands in Maitland.
She and Sir Samuel Walker Griffith were married on July 5, 1870 in Maitland.
They honeymooned in Newcastle, NSW before travelling to Sydney to watch Sam receive his MA at Sydney University. She and Sam were married for just over 50 years.
Julia died in Brisbane, QLD on 30 May, 1925
