Letters of Administration on Estate of John Atnip to Stephen Atnip, and by this time Charlotte was also deceased. John had died intestate.
Purchasers at estate of John:
Sarah Atnip, Stephen Atnip, Joseph Atnip, Jacob In Atnip, Jacob Atnip, and Eliza Atnip.
(Jacob In Atnip was probably John's brother)
Total Estate was worth $373.20. There were many disbursements that helps us to figure out John's descendants:
1) Joseph Atnip $27.72 2) W.J. Heaward (Howard) $27.72 3) Martha Lambert $27.72 4) Eliza Atnip $27.72 5) Guardian of Heirs of H. Atnip $27.72 6) John A. Riger $27.72 7) James Expley $27.72 8) Stephen Atnip $27.72 9) Absalom Atnip $13.86 l0 Jacob Atnip $13.86The disbursements indicate that each payment of $27.72 was probably to a child of John's or in the case of a married daughter to her husband. The disbursement to Absolem and Jacob Atnip is exactly one half of a child's share of $27.52 which is an indication that their father was deceased and they received his share as his only surviving children. The disbursements also indicate that H. (Hiltbrand) Atnip is dead and with minor surviving children.
