"Sarah Dunca aged 99 years and 3 months was convereted at thirteen years of age and had been a member with us for 14 years. She loved the coming of the Lord and Kingdom and waited for her Saviour to come but fell asleep in Jesus Aug 12, 1891. Her bright tesamonty and triumphant death is an encouragement to all who are waiting for the coming of the Lord to call for the dead when she will answer him with joy."
From Diane Kern Wilson: According to my grandmother's written history, she wrote:
"Thomas Duncan married Margaret Nelson, who was also born in Franklin Co. MO. His wife, Margaret (Nelson) Duncan died in 1849 when her son was 5 years old. After the death of his wife, Thomas Duncan went to California during the gold rush, later returning to Missouri. James William Duncan was cared for by his mother's family while his father was in California. Burial place of Margaret Nelson Duncan is unknown."Grandma got this info on James William Duncan's father and early life from Grace Duncan Brooks, who recorded it as Uncle Ed Duncan gave it to her previous to his last illness. DKW -- Ed Duncan is probably James William Duncan's son, who died 1962. (Diane)
