    I Jacob Job of Cecil County State of Maryland, being advanced in years, but of Sound and Disposing mind, memory and understanding , make this my last will That is to say After all my just debts and funeral Expenses are Paid, I give devise and bequeath to my wife, Rachel K. Job, the entire use and Control of my Estate, real, personal and Mixed with all the income she may derive there from, subject to the maintenance of my son, Haines Job, during his minority or until he arrives at the age of Twenty one years, said Maintenance to include his board, Clothing, Schooling and other necessary Expenses.

    After my said son, Haines Job, arrives at the age of twenty one years, he is then to assume control of my entire Estate as aforesaid_ and I hereby bequeath to him all my Personal Estate that may be in the hands of my said wife Rachel K. Job, and I also give and Devise for my said son all my real Estate, including what I have in undivided interest in as well as that whereon I reside, in fee simple Subject however to the comfortable support of my said wife, during her natural life, with the Exclusive use of the frame End of the Dwelling house I occupy, and I hereby declare it as a lien upon my real Estate, in order that a full and efficient support be afforded her In the Event of my living till my said Son Haines Job, arrives at the age of twenty one years of age or over he is then to assume Control of my whole Estate both real and personal, and if my said wife Rachel K. Job (over)

    should Still survive she is to have the same privilege and the same support out of my Estate from my said son, as are herein before stated, while she remains my widow. In witness whereof I have signed and sealed and published this instrument as my last will on this fifth day of April Eighteen hundred and Eighty four.

  3. Will of Jacob Job - Subscribing Witneses

    Cecil County, ss: May 12th 1885

    Then came Jesse A. Kirk, Job Haines, & I Taylor Reynolds the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing, and severally made affirmation in due form of law, that they did see Jacob Job the Testator therein named, sign and seal the same; that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension and belief of a sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding; that they severally subscribed their names as witnesses thereto, in the presence, at the request, of said Testator and in the presence of each other.

  4. Jacob Job (1804-1885) and his wife, Rachel (Kirk) (1821-1901) - buried at Brick Meeting House Cemetery in Cecil Co., MD. Jacob Job was the s/o Daniel Defoe Jobe and Rachel Haines. Rachel was the d/o William A. Kirk and Elizabeth A. Haines. Rachel and Jacob were the parents of Haines Jobe who wrote "Biography of Job" . Submitted by Randy Jobe
