Hannah was born September 24, 1801 East Nottingham, Cecil Co., Maryland and died about 1878 Cecil Co., Maryland. She lived near the 'Brick Meeting House'. She lived with her sister, Ann and they manufactured carpets. She was unmarried!

    I, Hannah Kirk of Cecil County and State of Maryland enjoying perfect health of body and of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, considering the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, do therefor make and publish this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following That is to say.

    1st. I give and bequeath unto My neice Lydia Emma Kirk all of my clothes and wearing apparel.

    2nd I give and bequeath unto my sister Ann Kirk, all of my right and interest in the property and Estate real and personal (which her and I now jointly own and posess.) during her natural life time with full power to sell and convey the same or any part thereof.

    3rd. And at the decease or death of My sister Ann Kirk, it is my wish and request, and I hereby order and Will that the following distribution of the property and Estate remaining be made. To Wit.

    4th. I give and bequeath unto My nephew William K. Griffiths One Hundred dollars.

    5. I give and bequeath unto my neice Hannah A. Griffith Twenty-five dollars.

    6th. And unto the children of My Brother Jacob J. Kirk, I give and bequeath as follows. (Namely) to Lydia Emma Kirk (his daughter) I give and bequeath Twenty five dollars.___unto Samuel Job Kirk his son I give and bequeath Twenty five dollars.___unto Archabald Allen Kirk his son I give and bequeath Twenty five dollars____and unto Slater Lewis Kirk I give and bequeath Twenty five dollars.

    7. I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth C. Brown (daughter of Clemson & Lydia Ann Brown) one Coverlet Marked (H.K.)

    8th. The rest and residue of My Estate real and personal I give and bequeath unto My nephew and Neices (Namely) William H. Griffith, Lydia Ann Brown (wife of Clemson Brown) Job M. Griffith and Hannah A. Griffith (who are the children of Nathan & Mary Griffith) Lydia Emma Kirk, Samuel Job Kirk, Archabald Allen Kirk and Slater Lewis Kirk (who are the children of Jacob J. Kirk) share and share alike.

    9th. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint William K. Griffith Executor of this my last Will and Testament revokeing and annuling all former Wills by me heretofore made rattifying and confirming this and no other to be My last Will and Testament, in testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed My seal this Sixth day of November, in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Sixty three

    ----Testimonty of Witnesses

    State of Maryland } Then came Ellis Brown
    Cecil County Sct } one of the subscribing witnesses
    April 17th 1878 } to the foregoing instrument of

    writing, and made affirmation in due form of law that his connection with this Will seemed like a dream, but recollects going down with M. Ellis G. Chandler and John M. Ireland to the house of the testatrix. I heard the will read to the testatrix but had almost forgotten that I had signed the Will, but my signature so said Will is genuine and made by me

    Then came John M. Ireland one of the subscribing to the foregoing instrument (? hasting) and made Oath in due form of Law, that he did see Hannah Kirk the testatrix Therein named, sign and seal the same; that he heard her publish, pronounce and declare the same to be her last Will and testament, and at the time of her so doing, she was to the best of his apprehension and belief of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding; that he subscribed his name as witness therefo, in the presence, at the request of said Testatrix and in the presence of the other two subscribing witnesses and he further made oath that Ellis G. Chandler is dead, and that he died some years ago, that he was well acquainted with his signature has often seen him write his name and believes the above signature of Ellis G. Chandler to be genuine. He saw him sign his name to said instrument, did so in his presence and in the presence of said testatrix
