    Know all men by these presents that we Hannah M. Kirk, David Conley and George Cathers all of Cecil County~~~~~~~~are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the just and full sum of Twelve~~~hundred~~~~~~~~dollars current money to be paid to said state; to which payment will and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and every of us and every of our heirs executors and administrators in the whole and for the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents.

    Sealed with our Seals and dated this twenty fourth day of December in the year eighteen hundred and fifty seven.

    The Condition of the above obligation is such. that if The above (?bounden), Hannah M. Kirk shall Will and truly perform the Office of Administratrix of the goods, chattels, credits and personal Estate of Jacob J. Kirk late of Cecil County deceased, according to law, and shall in all respects discharge the duties of her required by law as Administratrix aforesaid, without any injury or damage to any person interested in the faithful performance of the said office. Then The above obligation shall be void! it is otherwise to be in full force and virtue in law.

    Cecil County Sct: December 24th 1857 Then came Hannah M. Kirk Administatrix of Jacob I. Kirk late of Cecil County deceased and did solumnly sincerely and truly declare and affirm that she would will and truly administer the goods chattels personal estate and credits of said deceased to the best of her Knowledge according to law, and give a just account of her administration when thereto lawfully called, also that she would diligently and faithfully (?signed) and will and truly comply with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly of Maryland passed at December Session 1844, The one Chapter 184 Entitled an "Act imposing a tax on commissions allowed to Executors and administrators to aid in paying the debts of the State" The other Chapter 237 Entitled "An Act imposing a tax on Collateral Inheritances, Distribution Shares and Legacies to aid in paying the debts of the State"

    We The undersigned appointed by The Orphans Court of Cecil County to value and appraise the goods, chattels and personal Estate of Jacob I Kirk deceased do hereby certify That, the forgoing instrument of Writing is a true and Correct Inventory and appraisement of the goods, chattels and personal Estate of said deceased so far as the same came to our sight and Knowledge.
