    The last will and testament of Job Brown of Crinth district, in the county of Cecil, and State of Maryland.

    I, Job Brown, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory, (blessed be Almighty-God for the same!) do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following, (that is to say;)

    First, I give & bequeath to my wife Sarah P. Brown all the household goods and personal property.

    Second, I give and bequeath to my daughter Anna In. Kirk, her heirs and assigns, all that messuage or tenement situated, lying, and being in the ninth election district of Cecil County, Maryland, upon which I now reside, to hold to her, the said Ann In. Kirk, her heirs and assigns, forever.

    And, lastly as to all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, after my funeral expenses and just debts are paid, I give and bequeath to be divided between my three children, Anna In. Kirk, Amos R. Brown and Calvin P. Brown, share..

    and share alike; And I hereby appoint my two sons, Amos R. Brown and Calvin P. Brown sole executors without security of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

    In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, the sixteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand, eight hundred and ninety-five

    Executor's Statement

    CECIL COUNTY, ss: Sept. 22d, 1899

    Then came Amos R. Brown and Calvin P. Brown, Executors named in the foregoing instrument of writing, and made oath in due form of law, that the same is the true and whole last Will and Testament of Job Brown late of Cecil county, deceased, that hath come to their knowledge and possession; that due publication of the contents thereof hath been made, and that they know of none other or any reason why the probate thereof should not be taken.

  4. Subscribing Witnesses Testimony

    CECIL COUNTY, ss: Sept. 22d 1899.

    Then came Wm. Wilson, Sam'l D. Wilson and Alfred T. Wilson the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing, and severally made oath in due form of law, that they did see Job Brown the Testator therein named, sign and seal the same; that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament, and at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension and belief of a sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding; that they severally subscribed their names as witnesses thereto, in the presence, at the request, of said Testator and in the presence of each other.

    IN THE ORPHANS' COURT OF CECIL COUNTY:

    The Regr. of wills after having carefully examined the above last Will and Testament of Job Brown, late of Cecil County, deceased, and also the evidence adduced as to its validity, Orders and Decrees, this 22d. day of Sept. , A.D. 1899, that the same be admitted to probate in this court as the true and genuine last Will and Testament of the said Job Brown, deceased.
