Lydia was born August 14, 1806 East Nottingham, Chester Co., Pennsylvania and died June 17, 1875 Cecil Co., Maryland. She married Job Haines Kirk, s/o William A. Kirk and Elizabeth Haines, on February 28, 1833 Cecil Co., Maryland.

    I, Job H. Kirk of the Ninth Election District of Cecil County, Maryland, being advanced in years and in failing health, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, make this my last will, that is to say:

    After my decease, and all my just debts and funeral Expenses are paid, I give devise and bequeath as follows -

    I devise to my son Samuel W. Kirk, all the land owned by me lying on the South side of the Public road, Known as "Stony Lane," running from the Pennsylvania line to the Port Deposit road.-Containing forty five acres more or les, together with all the improvements thereon in fee simple. -

    I also give and devise to my son Job Haines Kirk, all the residue of the land owned by me, lying on the North side of said Public road, known as "Stony Lane." Containing eighty acres more or less, together with all the improvements thereon, in fee simple,- Provided, that he pay to my son William Lewis Kirk, the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.) within two years from the date of my decease, the same to be a lien upon said land until paid.

    I give and bequeath to my said son Job Haines Kirk, all my personal property of whatever kind,- and I also constitute and appoint my said son Job Haines Kirk, who resides with me on the property hereby devised to him, as my Executor of this my will, - and in order to avoid any dissatisfaction.

    I hereby provide that if either of my three sons should contest this will, that the one or contesting shall only receiver the sum of one dollar, in liew of the bequest or devise herein before made.-

    I witness whereof, I have signed, sealed, published and declared this instrument as my will, at Rising Sun, on the 12 day of November, in the years Eighteen hundred and Eighty seven.

    The said Job H.Kirk at said place on said day signed and sealed this instrument, and published and declared the same as and for his last will, and we, at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto written our names as subscribing witnesses. -

    CECIL COUNTY, ss: Jany 18th 1888
    Then came Job Haines Kirk Executor named in the foregoing instrument of writing, and made oath in due form of law, that the same is the true and whole last Will and Testament of Job H. Kirk late of Cecil county, deceased, that hath come to his knowledge and possession; that due publication of the contents thereof hath been made, and that he knows of none other or any reason why the probate thereof should not be taken.

    Subscribing Witnesses Statement

    CECIL COUNTY, ss: Jany 18th 1888
    Then came Harris J. Pyle, Amasa Churchman & Clifford Kirk the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing, and severally made oath in due form of law, that they did see Job H. Kirk the Testator therein named, sign and seal the same; that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament, and at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension and belief of a sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding; that they severally subscribed their names as witnesses thereto, in the presence, at the request, of said Testator and in the presence of each other.
