Henry's Photo Album

  1. Henry (1830-1904) and 2nd wife, Anna (Gouge) Jobe (1830-1904) - Henry was m/1 to Sarah Ann Headrick on June 17, 1849. She was the mother of his children. Henry m/2 Anna Gouge March 29, 1870 Morgan Co., MO. Submitted by Melinda Von Bossuyt

  2. Uncle Henry Jobe 70th birthday at Jim Jobe's. - Taken in 1900. This is one really GREAT PICTURE. I love the picture because you can see the food and what everyone was eating. I have identified fried chicken, stacks of sliced bread, pickles, cups and saucers with spoons. The folks must have finished eating and were having their coffee. There are uncut iced two layer cakes on the table. Maybe the woman with her back to the camera is cutting the cake. I have concluded that this photo has to have been taken prior to 1905 because both Henry and his wife died in 1904. I think it may have been May 1900 when Henry turned 70. Margaret Jane Birdsong is in the picture and I do not find her husband. She was married in November of 1900. So this would be consistent with the picture having been taken in May 1900. One other thing that would support that date is that there do not seem to be fresh vegetables on the table. No corn, no green beans, etc. In May, it would have been too early for fresh vegetables to be harvested from the garden. Hope you enjoy this photo as much as I have. Submitted by Melinda Von Bossuyt

  3. Ella Jobe (1882 - ?) - d/o William Tipton 'Tipp' Jobe and gd/o Henry Jobe and Sarah Ann Headrick. Submitted by Melinda Von Bossuyt.
