  1. Sarah Ann Jobe and John Alexander Copple, Sr.

It is believed that this could be there wedding photo. If so it would have been taken March 1862, Mound City, Linn Co., Kansas. The newspaper clipping at the top is the obituary of John, he died Dec. 1880 in Chautauqua Co., KS. of pneumonia.

  2. Rose Copple, Sarah Ann (Jobe) Copple, Myers (Mother) and Mary Augusta Myers ca, 1892, Elgin Chautauqua Co., Ks

  3. William Daniel Copple

This photo was taken probably in Sedan, Chautauqua Co., Kansas. William was the eldest child of Sarah and John Copple. This photo was sent to me by Linda Beason, great-granddaughter of William.

  4. Philip Edward Copple

Philip Edward Copple was the next son born to Sarah and John Copple. It is not known what happened to the rest of the photos, but at least I do have this much showing what he looked like.

  5. John Alexander Copple, Jr.

John Alexander, Jr was born after the death of his father in 1880. He never knew his father and to carry on the family name he was named after him. There have been many John's in the family since the death of John Sr. It is a very common name in the Copple family.

  6. Simpson Myers 1923, Elgin, Ks

This is my great-grandfather Simpson Myers. He died in 1928 and is buried in Independence, Kansas. This is the only photo that the family has of him. He was born in Decatur Co., IL and came to Chautauqua Co., Kansas where his sister Eliza Myers Brewington was in 1879. This photo was taken in Elgin, Chautauqua Co., Kansas at my grandparents place. Simpson raised rabbits and like to whittle and made small things for my Mother out of peach seeds. She was 5 when he died but does still remember him. Freida Wells 10-02-07.

  7. Mary Augusta Myers ca 1894

Mary Augusta Myers was my grandmother. She was born Aug. 26, 1884 in Sedan, KS. We think that she was around 8-10 years of age when this was taken tho there is no name of photographer or date on the back. This was sent to me by my cousin Frances Jean (Thorne) Joslin.
