In the name of God Amen. I Benjamin Wilson of Cecil County in the State of Maryland. being in perfect health of body and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding. considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainly of the time thereof, and being desirous to settle my worldly affair and hereby be the better prepared to leave this world, do therefore make and publish this, my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say.First and principally, I commit my Soul into the hands of almighty god. and my body to the earth, to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor herein-after named. After my debts and funeral charges are paid. I desire and bequeath as follows.
First. To my wife Rebecca Wilson I Will and bequeath all of my household goods and furniture, together with the House, Garden Stable and Lot of three acres of ground, lying at the east end of my plantation, and being the House and part of the lot that I bought from John H. Phillips, to have and to hold the same during her life or widowhood and she is to have two Cows and their keeping. and what wood is needed for her own use is to be delivered to her at her House by my Executor here-in-after named.
Second. And I further will and bequeath to her my wife Rebecca Wilson The anual sum of two Hundred Dollars to be paid to her by my executor each and every year of her life or widow hood After her death or marriage which ever shall first occur. Then the House and lot above named shall revert back to my other Heir.
Third The residue of my Estate real personal and mixed I Will and bequeath to my Daughter Lydia Ann wife of James H. Maxwell and to her Heirs forever.
Fourth and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my Son-in-law James H. Maxwell to be sole Executor of this my last Will and testament. revoking and annulling all former Wills of.....

Maxwell Executor~~~~~~ named in the foregoing instrument of writing, and made oath in due form of law, that the same is the true and whole last Will and Testament of Benjamin Wilson ~~ late of Cecil county, deceased, that hath come to his knowledge and possession; that due publication of the contents thereof hath been made, and that he knows of none other or any reason why the probate thereof should not be taken. Nov. 12 th 1878 } that he did see Benjamin Wilson the testator therein named sign and seal the same, that he heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament; that at the time of his so doing, he was to the best of his apprehension and belief of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding that the aforesaid George W. Thomas and James C. Crothers stated under oath that they were acquainted with the hand writing of Jos. R. Thomas now deceased one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing that they have frequently seen him write and that his signature to the foregoing instrument of writing is genuine and in his proper hand writing and said George W. Thomas further made oath that he Jos. R. Thomas & William Fischer the other two subscribing witnesses, severally subscribed their names as witnesses thereto in the presence and at the request of said testator and in the presence of each other does not Know what has become of William Fischer, he may be dead -Test
