NOTE: (from Michael Landwehr 1998)"June 5, 1880 in 3rd Supervisors District, Collin Co.,, Texas. The census record for the Albert Brewer family is confusing. The family (if this is the correct family) was listed in the same dwelling as the Caleb Jobe family. The "Brewer" name is difficult to interpret. It starts with "Br", but does not look like Brewer. Caleb and Martha and their three children were listed, followed by Albert Brewer?, Elizabeth, William F.,and Maud. There is probably a middle initial for Maud, but her name is very difficult to read, and the middle initial is impossible to read. All four lines representing this family were lined out by the census enumerator. They were apparently being omitted for some reason. I don't know why, but would speculate that after the information was given to the census-taker by Albert or Elizabeth, there may have been mention that they just moved into that dwelling (the census was taken on June 5), but weren't living there on the census date (June 1). Or, perhaps Caleb or Martha gave the information to the census taker, and then mentioned that Albert and Elizabeth were living elsewhere on June 1 (perhaps they had recently moved out of the Caleb Jobe home). In either event, the Albert Brewer? family must have been there in the spring or summer of 1880." I suspect that Elizabeth Brewer and Caleb Jobe were first cousins.""The reason I missed the family the first couple of times I looked at that page was because Albert's last name does not look like Brewer. The name does start with "Br..", but appears to me to be "Brason". It was not very legible, and perhaps was some variant of Brewer (Bruer, etc.). The rest of Albert's entry was legible, as was Elizabeth's entry, and William's entry. Maud's entry was very difficult to read, because of the lines drawn through the name. I could just barely make out the "Maud", and couldn't determine whether there was a middle initial. I guessed that her age was "3", but it could have been "5".
MY NOTE (Ann): Caleb and Elizabeth had been raised as brother/sister. They were actually 1st cousins. Caleb is my great grandfather.
