Jacob Jobe, Private, Company G, Fristoe's Regiment MO Cav.appears on a muster roll
of prisoners of war belonging to the Army of the Nothern Sub-District or Arkansas and surrended on the 11th day of May, 1865 by Bridagier General M. Jeff Thompson, C.S.A., commanding said army to Major General G. M. Dodge, U. S. A., Commanding department of the Missouri.

Jobe, Jacob 22 Nov 1827 - 2 Jan 1899 [m. Mary Jane Bailey] ~Jobe (Jobe Twp) Cemetery~Died January 2, 1899, Jacob Jobe, aged 77 years. Mr. Jobe was born and raised within 2 miles of where he died; has been a resident of this Co., all his life. The post office of Job was named for him. His wife preceded him to the Glory Land 17 years ago; since then he and his next oldest son, C.C. Jobe, a bachelor, have kept house up to the time of his death. He leaves besides C.
