"This Indenture made and entered into this 3rd day of November 1882 between Chase Jobe Lidia A. Jobe Eliza Smith Elizabeth More and John Jobe of Barren Co., Ky and Mary Hedrick of Co., of the first part and Clara Buckley wife of Joseph Buckley of the Co., of Barren & State of Ky of the second part Witnesseth: that for and in consideration the natural love and affection that the said Chase Jobe Lydia A. Jobe Eliza Smith Elizabeth More John Jobe and Mary Hedrick bears to and entertains for the said party of the second part, she being their Sister and they all being mature and of lawful age and the legal heirs of Nancy Jobe deceased, the said party of the first part has bargained and sold given granted and donated unto the party of the second part her heirs forever a certain tact or parcel of land lying and being in the Co., and State aforesaid on the waters of Glovers Creek and being her proportioned part of the land owned by her Mother Nancy Jobe, and bounded as follows:Beginning at a Stone @ Sarah Matthews line, running S 88 E 58 poles to a stone thence S 6 1/2 W 41 1/2 poles to a stone, thence N 88 W 58 poles to a stone in said Matthews line thence with said line N 6 1/2 E 41 1/2 poles to the beginning containing 15 acres. To Have and to hold the above described tract of land with all its appurtenances, her heirs and assigns forever, and the said parties of the first part do is by these presents covenants to and with the party of the second part to forever warrant and defend the title of the above parcel of land to the said party of the second part her heirs &c forever. In witness of all which the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals this 3rd day of November 1882. The stipulations of their covenant are such that any other party shall have the privilege of using water from the spring on the above described tract of land. This November 3rd 1882

"This indenture made and entered into the Dec 11th 1882 between Chase Jobe John Jobe Lydia A. Jobe Eliza Smith Mary Headrick Elisabeth More Clara Buckley of the first part and Charles M Harvey of the second part Witnesseth: That the parties of the first part has for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and Eighty dollars in hand paid and Ninety dollars payable Sep 10th 1883 executed by note bargained sold and conveyed unto party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of land in Barren Co., Ky on the Waters of Glovers Creek bounded as follows viz: Beginning at a stake on George Pusley's line S 88 3/4 W 215 poles to Isaiah Matthews corner N 5 1/2 E 105 poles to a stake in Matthews line N 88 1/2 E 190 1/2 poles to a stone in Pusleys line thence with his line S 10 1/4 E 105 poles to the beginning, containing one hundred and thirty acres, less fifteen acres that has been sold out of the boundary to Buckley and Clara Buckley his wife, bounded as follows: Beginning at a Stone in Matthews line S 88 E 58 poles to a Stone S 6 1/2 W 41 1/2 poles to a stone N 88 W 58 poles to a stone in Matthews line thence with same N 6 1/2 E 41 1/2 poles to beginning. The party of the second part to have and hold the land hereby conveyed by parties of the first part and its appurtenances. And the parties of the first part for themselves their heirs and assigns forever warrants and defends title of said land unto the said Charles M Harvey party of the second part free from all claims. Corinth Church was established in 1900. J B HUNT gave the first subscription of $2.50 to build a church house. Chase JOBE gave $7.50. Building committee consisted of Allen BRYANT, John BUSHONG, Charley WADE. Edd GENTRY was treasurer, G W HODGES was secretary. soliciting committee was established composed of Sanford BRYANT, Billie ARTERBURN and Harmon WHITE. Edd GENTRY donated 1/2 acre of land. On Mary 15, 1901 the people met at the Hamilton School House and elected J T TINSLEY Moderator and A E HOLLOWAY Clerk pro tem. Deacons chosen were Edd GENTRY, Billie ARTERBURN, F M CLEMONS & J C GENTRY.A one-room frame building was erected for the building and was known as the Missionary Baptist Church, and named Corinth - a name suggested by Lockie HOWARD. New members were added in the first two years: Chase JOBE came from Beech Grove Church; Willard HODGES, Bert HODGES & Frank MILLER; Elizabeth & Annie Miller (by experience & baptism), Emily CLEMONS and Sarah CLEMONS came from Oak Grove, Laura PIERCY, Aleck PIERCY and John WHITTEY came from Summer Shade church. Rev. W F MILLER pastored from 1903 through most of 1908. S T WALDEN returned and served un W C STRODE was called in 1913. J T CLEMONS pastored next. G A STEPHENSON was elected as clerk replacing J H HAMILTON (clerk since the formation). STEPHENSON served until 1936 when he moved to another community. Mamie HOWARD WRIGHT was elected Clerk and Ina HODGES assistant Clerk
