Will of mother, Rhoda (Arterburn) Jobe
"I Rhoda Jobe being of Sound mind and dispasing memory do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills made by me,1st I will that after my death all my Just debts be paid if any
2nd I will and bequeath and give to my son George W. Jobe all my live stock such as horses, mules, cattle, sheep and hogs except one cow, and I also give and bequeath to said Geo W. Jobe My two best bedsteads and best beds to consist of two straw bed ticks two feather beads & feathers and two pillows and pillow cases to each bed & two sheets to each bed & one yarn blanket to each bed and four quilts for each bed and one cover-lid and all my household and kitchen furniture of every character. Also give my said son Geo W. Jobe my farm wagon mowing machine hay rake harrow corn drill and all my other farming utensils, and all my gearing and harness.
3rd I will and bequeath my deaf & dumb daughter Mary E. Jobe one cow and my spring wagon and all my beds and beding outside of what I have give my son Geo W. Jobe. I also give my daughter Mary E. Jobe my cloths safe that is in the house where I sleep and one quilt trunk that I purchased from John Mosier and also my sweet gum table that I now keep bed cloths on and all my wearing appearel.
4th I will that my doctor bill and burial expenses and toom stones be placed at my grave as near like those at my husbands grave as can be got and that all this expense be paid out of the money that I may have on hands at my death if any and if none then I will that my son Geo W. Jobe bear these expenses out of the property I give him.
5th I will give and bequeath to my son Geo W. Jobe $100 in money if I have any on hands at my death after paying the above mentioned expenses and I also will give $100 each to my two daughters Mrs. Martha F. Mosier & Mary E. Jobe if I have that much on hands at my death and after Geo W. Jobe has got his hundred dollars but if I do not have money enough on hands at my death after paying said Geo W. Jobe $100 to pay each of my said daughters $100 then I will them whatever I have left in money after paying my said son $100 be equally divided between my said two daughters.
6th I desire to state so that my children and all others who desire to know, may know and understand why I make the foregoing will and the reason is that my son Geo W. Jobe has lived with me and worked for and waited on me in my aldays for the last past nine years and will as I believe, and he has told me "he would stay with me" and wait on me & work for me as heretofore the balance of my life, and that he has (inserted) ready done, ready much more for me than all the balance of my children and is entitled to what I have give him and if I had it he should have more as I believe his services rendered me entitles him to more.
7th I hereby nominate and appoint my son Geo W. Jobe my executor to execute this my last will and testament

Unknown Glasgow Newspaper, taken from old Scrapbook"Age 67, died at home of son Jim Jobe, four miles out on the Burkesville road. Widow of George Jobe. Children: Jim, Mrs. Nell Crabtree wife of Dr Crabtree of Ind; Mrs. Lavada Pennington, and Mrs. Bill Mayo. Formerly Nannie Bryant, born and raised in Monroe Co. Ky. Surviving brothers: Branlow, Bryant of Tompkinsville. Interred in Peden Cemetery."- 1915
