Apparently she inherited the land and then had to pay for it!)

TN Will Book 2, p. 494We, J.H. Cox and his wife, Cynthia A. Cox of the 14th civil district of said county of Sullivan, do make and publish this as our last will and Testament, hereby revoking any and all other wills by us heretofore made.First, we give, devise and bequeath and so direct that our grandson, Nathan B. Cox, have our Bible, also our clock and one book title Charming Bible Stories and all the pictures hanging in our home at the time of our deaths.
Second, we devise and bequeath to our son, M.P. Cox, the following described tract of land Beginning at Tom Jones line and in the center of the Snapps Ferry Road. These with the center of the Snapps Ferry Road to the place where the Rock Springs Road intersects with the Snapps Ferry Road thence north course and with the said Rock Springs Road to the old barn near the foot of the hill thence with the path bearing to the Big Spring near the old Pickens House. Thence from the center of said Big Spring a north course to a large Maple tree. Thence an east course to a little stream near to where the fence now stands. Thence an east course a short distance to a walnut tree in the woods. Thence a North East course to a walnut tree W~~~er Coxs corner. Thence from W~~~er Coxs corner to the top of the hill at a white oak~~Rudafords and Coxs corner. Thence with Rudafords hill and with the ~ ~ ~ ~ the other adjoining land owners to the place of the beginning.
Third we give, devise and bequeath to the heirs of John Wesley Cox ~~~ the following described tract of land. Beginning at the Tom Jones line and in the center of the Snapps Ferry Road. Thence with the center of said Snapps Ferry Road to the place where the Rock Springs Road intersects with the Snapps Ferry Road. Thence a north course and with the said Rock Springs Road to where a small spring branch crosses the road. Thence a north west course with the fence as it now stands or runs around the ~ ~ ~ to the woods. Thence with the fence as it now stands a north East course to Sam Coxs line. Thence with Sam Coxs line and with the lines of the other adjoining land owners to the place of the beginning.
Fourth. We give devise and bequeath fo the heirs of John Wesley Cox, decd. the remainder of our land it being about ~ ~ acres ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ the house and barn where we now live provided that the heirs of said John Wesley Cox, Decd pay all the burying expenses and pay to our son W. ~ Cox five hundred dollars and to our daughter Mary Chase five dollars and to pay the expenses of having this will carried out and in case the heirs of the said John Wesley Cox decd do not pay the above named amounts and expenses, then the executor of this will is to sell said remainder of land and pay the above named amounts and expenses and if any money be left from the sale of said land the same shall be equally divided between the heirs of said John Wesley Cox decd.
Fifth. We give devise and bequeath to our son M.P. Cox all the remainder of our personal property that is or may be on hands at our deaths.
We appoint R.W. Depew to be the Executor of this will.
