Ann, Let me start with this query. The three children you list as those of Dorcas Jackson and her husband do not belong here. As I mentioned in my earlier message, 'Johnny' is evidently incorrectly transcribed from the original records. The marriage records listed for Washington Co., Tennessee were redone after originally written out as you will have noticed from the script. It would seem to me that much of the early information was hard to read and has been copied with a number of errors. There are no Bacons couples who are named 'John and Dorcas' or 'Jonathan and Dorcas' and I have carefully analyzed each of them in case there was a previous wife. However, there is a couple named 'James and Dorcas' who is otherwise unaccounted for and you will see them in the 1830 census on page 252 for Washington Co., in 1840 on page 37 of Washington Co. and in 1850 on page 356 (stamped) for Jefferson Co., Tennessee. James Bacon Jr. is shown in 1820 in Washington Co. Deed Book 17, p.305 receiving 130 acres from James Bacon Sr. and selling off the same acreage in 1836 shown in Deed Book 21, p.101. George Jackson's 1850 will names his daughter Dorcas Bacon and there is only one person by than name in the area. The Jonathan who was the father of Tymander (shown as Timantha) is shown in 1850 in Washington Co., p.498, you you will see that they cannot be the same person.
On some reports I have seen this James Sr. showing a middle initial of some sort or another. Those middle initials should be removed as he had no middle name - he was plain James Bacon. And you can name James Bacon Sr.'s father as Jeremiah Bacon which is correct but please do not name James Sr.'s mother as Veronica. That is unproven and in my opinion probably incorrect. At this stage the name of Jeremiah Bacon's wife (or wives) remains conjectural and it is best to leave it blank.
