James Epperson, who for several years has lived a couple of miles north of Esbon, with his son, Tom, died early Tuesday morning, aged a little over 81 years. He came to these parts in 1872. The funeral was held yesterday forenoon, at the M.E. church in this city, conducted by Rev. Catherman, pastor of the U.B. church at Esbon. Interment took place in the Burr Oak cemetery. He leaves a wife and three sons, Tom of Esbon, John of Norton Co., and George of Johnson Co., all of whom were present when he passed away.

Aged Omahan Born in Indiana when Nebraska Was Wilderness.
Mrs. Elizabeth Epperson, 101, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. W. Downing of Bellevue. Mrs. Epperson was born in Indiana, when Nebraska and the surrounding territory was yet a hunting ground for Indians.
She had the opportunity to watch a small and insignificant country grow into a world power, and the prairie schooner give way to the railroad and the automobile, and to enjoy the various stages of progress of the last century.
She settled in Omaha 14 years ago. She had lived in the vicinity of Omaha and Bellevue up to the time of her death.
Mrs. Epperson (it was) reported to have been in good (health) up to yesterday. Her death came suddenly.
Besides Mrs. Downing, Mrs. Epperson is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Mary Williams of Kansas City; Mrs. Ida Boyer of Colby, Kan., and Lizzie Hawley of Traer, Kan. She also leaves 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at the (?tewer) funeral home in South Omaha (at) 2 tomorrow.
Rev. C. C. Wilson (will) officiate. Burial will be at (Grace????) Park cemetery.
