John Cox and family settled in Sullivan Co, TN. They lived between Horse Creek and Kendrick's Dreek. (There was also a John Cox in Hawkins Co, TN in 1783). The lands of Cox, Hulse, and Jobe adjoined.

Begin at the corner of Sm Jobes lot No 3 running the line S80 E88 poles, N40 E24 poles to a corner of lot No 5 drawn by Lear Cox, with said line N80 W104 poles, S22 poles to the beginning. Also if the said tract of land of Jacob Job dec’d should ever be broke that is the divide that said John Cox Jr shall have his part where ever it falls in. John Cox left 8 heirs other than his wife, who was provided for in life. The bulk of his land was left to son, Moses, mother and son sold the land in 1842-1843.
NOTE:Though Sarah is not believed to have married, she did have a son, John Hulse Cox born about 1818 Sullivan Co., TN.
