Wedding Announcement
MarriedOn Thursday, February 21st, (1907) at 2 p.m. Mr. Philip H. Jobe and Miss E. Alice Thompson, both of this city, were united in marriage at the M.E. parsonage by Rev. A Cates, in the presence of only a few friends.
After the ceremony the bridal party returned to the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. Scott M. Snively, and partook of a dainty breakfast awaiting their return. The groom is an enterprising young man who came to this city about two years ago.
The bride is a popular young lady of Sheridan and vicinity, where she has made her home since childhood, and the daughter of Mrs. W. Thompson of Beckton.
The newly married couple will leave in a few days for Montana where they intend making their future home.
Their many friends wish them joy in life’s journey.

MRS PHIL JOBE PASSES SATURDAYFUNERAL SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR LYNDEN RESIDENT; HAD LIVED HERE 19 YEARS
Funeral services for Mrs. Elza Alice 'Thompson' Jobe, wife of Phil Jobe, former marshall of Lynden who passed away at the family home on Grover Street Saturday at 1 a.m. were held Tuesday at the Lynden Baptist Church.
The Rev. T. E. Summers, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was made in the Lynden Cemetery under the direction of the Gillis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jobe had been ill for the last year and a half. She had scores of friends in Lynden and throughout the district, and was held in the highest regard by all.
Born near Hopkins, Missouri on May 3, 1880 Mrs. Jobe was a pioneer daughter of the West. At the age of three years she left Missouri with her family in a covred wagon and was brought to Wyoming where she lived for many years. On February 21, 1907 she was married to Phil Jobe, and in 1916 the family moved to Washington. Coming to Lynden in November 1918 she spent the rest of her life in this community.
At the time of her passing, Mrs. Jobe was 57 years, ten months and nine days old. She was active in the work of the Lynden Home Demonstration Club and formerly afflicated with the Royal Neighbors.
Surviving relatives include the husband, two daughters, Leora of Seattle and Lennie of Lynden, one son, Charles of Seattle and three sisters, Mrs. Scott M. Snively of Rancester, Wyoming, Mrs. Fred Heath, and Mrs Will Campbell, both of Arvada, Wyoming.

RITES PLANNED FOR PHILLIP JOBE
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. for former Lynden resident Phillip H. Jobe, 79, 1621 3rd West, Seattle in the Gillies Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Wells officiating. Internment will be in the Lynden Cemetery.
Mr. Jobe passed away early Wednesday morning at his Seattle Home.
Born May 15, 1878 in Kentucky, he lived in Illinois during his youth. In Sheridan, Wyoming he married Alice Thompson and came to Lynden in 1918.
He was employed by the Lynden Department Store and later the Farmer's Dairymen's Association. For many years he was the town marshall. Following the death of his wife in 1938 he married Harriet Beal Hodge, formerly of Bellingham.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet, one son Charles of Lynden, one daughter Lennie Jobe of Los Angeles; four grandchildren. Another daughter Mrs Leora Ballew passed away at Eugene, Oregon September 1956. Also surviving are a brother and a sister, John, Fithian, Illinois and Mrs. Phill Haff (name should be Haas) of Truth of Consequence, New Mexico.
Pallbearers will be Ed Frith, Claude Taylor, W. H. Waples, William and Henry Shagren and Clarence Bloomer.
