Sullivan Co., TN
Zachariah was listed in the Sullivan Co.,, Tennessee, Tax List.
War of 1812
Zachariah fought in the War of 1812. He was listed as a Private under Col. Ewin Allison and Captain Joseph Everett in the East Tennessee Militia.
My note: Some list this Zachariah as the one born 1798 - but he would have only been about 13-14 at this time
May 1 - Sullivan Co., TN Petition - South of the Holston River
Zachariah Jobe signed a pettition "for a change of thier Battlion Muster Grounds because the river must be crossed, which is sometimes impossible, and the location at Francis Holley's is not as centrally located as it was at Mr. Brunstutter's, formally where Mr. Walter James lived."Signers inclued:
"Samuel Jobe, William Jones, Joseph Coven, William Lester, Jonathon Tussy, Joseph Webb, William Copas, Tomas Copass, George Crudgingder, William Faulks, Jacob Keene, Joseph Clark, Mathias Keene, Jones Boyd, William Boyd, William Britt, James Williams, Ezariah Jobe, George Jobe, William Guttisry, David Harlarger, Eli_m Emery, Nathaniel Jobe."

**NOTICE THAT this mentions land joining the land of Zachariah Jobe's HEIRS (One has to assume that Zachariah is now deceased and his heirs must have come of age (or married) in 1833 when the land is later sold - see below)
A Zachariah Jobe was listed in the Washington Co.,, Tennessee, census with 2 males under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 30-40 (1790-1800), 1 female 5-10, and 1 female 20-30.MY NOTE: HOWEVER, with the new discovery of the deed (above) which proves this Zachariah was deceased by Aug 21, 1820 - though his land wasn't sold until 1833 (probably when his heirs reached legal age or married - please note that James S. Jobe married in 1833 and also turned 21 in 1833) - I now believe this to be a different Zachariah Jobe - possibly his nephew - the s/o Samuel Jobe and Barbary Adwell or another Zachariah Jobe that at this time we are not aware of. PLUS, I believe, this Zachariah Jobe had to be born before 1790!
Nov. 6, Sullivan Co., TN, Deed Book 15, p. 70
******NOTE: Bill Jobe in the Jobe Journal mistakely calls this a will, but it is a deed per research of Sally Byers - who has personally read these deeds AND sent me the transcribed copy as appears below. Sullivan Co., TN has no wills before 1863 that have survived.)"This indenture made the sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between the heirs of Zachariah Jobe dec'd:****NOTE: This deed mentioned heirs William Flowers and wife Elizabeth, William Jackson and wife Deborah (Bill has Hannah but deed says Deborah) , William Simpson and wife Sarah, William Elzea (may be John William as he signed John W) and wife Nancy, and James S. Jobe of Sullivan Co.,. Land was given to John Cox beginning at the original grant of Jacob Job(e), deceased, to Samuel's Jobe's corner. (Also one wonders why Sarah Jackson signed without her husband, when Deborah signed with hers?) (There had to be TWO William Jacksons married to Jobe descendants - this one is quite a bit younger than the one married to Hannah Jobe before 1808. In fact, it is POSSIBLE that this William Jackson may even be a s/o William Jackson and Hannah Jobe - though I have no proof at this time. HOWEVER, in the will of William Jackson, husand of Hannah Jobe, there is a son named Willie or Wiley Jackson)William Flowers and wife, William Jackson and wife, William Simpson and wife, William Elsy and wife and James S. Jobe of the state of Tennesse and Co., of Sullivan of the one part and John Cox of the Co., and state aforesaid of the other part.
