January 7, 1919A few lines from Papa and Mama. How are you all today? We are about the same. I came down to Willie’s today and am going over to Ellen Griffeys to get some sock cap she has knit for me.
We have been having some real winter these days. Has been snow on the ground now for a week. turning warmer today and looks like it might rain next.
Your mama reacted very well last night by me giving her two doses of resting medicine.
While its so bad the days seem pretty long for her.
Lillies left arm has swelled up and her hand just like her right one did that time and we have all been pretty bad worried about it. But she says its some better today. Maybe she wont have such a time as that. We hope so any way.
Well George Burris’s folks hasn’t come back yet and Ethel says she never aimes to stay hear any more. Bunt (Burt ?) came in a few days before Xmas and has been waiting on the people at Gapcreek that has the flu. She had it while in New Castle. It’s been so bad I guess that Tom has not got to do very much about Wilson’s rocks. And I have not got to see Net about the address. Will find out as soon as possible. And let you know. They have not heard from Otto for some time. I think his letter was wrote about 3 days before peace was signed.
They say Maggie’s boy is sure a fat fellow and looks awfuly like it’s Dad.
They have not heard anything more about Pearls money.
Sandy Perdew (?) has been awful sick. Thought he had consumption but is sitting up a little again.
Well I can’t think of any thing else worth writing hope to hear from you all soon. Hope you are better by ? (this?) time. From Papa & Mama to all
