The following records are taken from a bible printed in Edinburgh by Alexander Kincaid, his Majesty's printer, 1762, which is owned by Mrs. Sharlie Cope Hill of Hawkins Co. Tn. They were copied in 1948. This seems to have been the Bible of James McCarty b. 1736 (s/o Darby) and descending through his son William. It names the children of James and William but I am going to skip them and give you Darby and Hannah's just like it is written down.
MY Note: Please note that this Bible was printed in 1762 - which means that these dates were entered AFTER the last child was born - so was WRITTEN AFTER THE FACT.Children of Darby and Hannah McCarty: James McCarty b. July ye 4th 1736 Mary McCarty born December ye 10th 1738 Isaac McCarty born April ye 18 1741 Sarah McCarty born July ye 3d 1743 Rachel McCarty born October ye 28th 1745 Elizabeth McCarty born June ye 18th 1748 Hannah McCarty born December ye 9th 1750 Enoch McCarty born April ye 29th 1753 Jonathon McCarty born April ye 29th 1756 Lydia McCarty born April ye 30th 1756 Benjamin McCarty born December ye 22d 1759MY NOTE: At this moment, I'm not sure if Jonathan and Lydia were twins - born close to midnight (therefore two different dates) or what the explanation is for their dates being a date apart!

"The order book shows three suits brought against Nathan. Interesting is the fact that their dates of settlement are: 31 May 1782, 31 Aug 1782, and 30 Jan 1783. Given that travel at that time between the Northern Neck of Virginia and western North Carolina (which was to become Tennessee) took weeks of trudging rough trails, it’s fairly certain that Nathan was still in Shenandoah Co.,, Virginia through 30 January 1783. This means that his daughters Rachel and Nancy were not born in Tennessee. They were born in Shenandoah Co.,, Virginia. Virginia did not record birth records until mid 19th century so no public record exists of the births of Nathan’s children. "

NOTE: I have come to the conclusion that this Rachel Job (d/o Nathan Job) did in fact marry her 1st cousin, George Job (who died about 1820 and was the s/o Jacob Job). This also accounts for the children listed above in the census as they would be the children of George and Rachel and this also accounts why Rachel is carrying the Job surname and WHY she is living with Richardson Job on 1850 census. Also remember that This Rachel's grandmother's maiden name was RICHARDSON
