Descendants of Andrew Job Jr
Charles Jobe taught school for a while in Calif. Not sure where or when. He was later elected supervisor in Tehama Co., CA. He had a stroke while in office which kept him house ridden for a number of years.Terry Flanagan age 3 or so wandered off and Charles became aware of it. He left the house on his own for the first time in 20 years to look for the boy. He found him about .5 miles from the house. The old gentleman herded the boy home with an occational smack of his cane wher it would do the most good
For a time he was a byer of livestock for Westbern and Cogden butcher wholesale butcher company. He and Joe Flanagan, his son in law, traveled the northern end of the Sacramento valley doing this for several years.
The old barn on the south east corner of the family property in Corning was used to hold stock waiting to be shiped. That building still stands in 1998 and is used as a garage for the current owner of the property. "
'There is a letter written July 1880 from Charles S Jobe to his mother Helen Jobe in Kansas stating that he was planning to start teaching school at Olimpo at the start of school and lived only a few miles from school.'

Thursday, June 15, 1905GRAND ARMY WEDDING OF WELL-KNOWN COUPLERED BLUFF (Tehama Co.), June 15 - A Grand Army wedding was celebrated in this city yesterday. The groom, George B. DUFFIELD, a native of Illinois and formerly residing at Sutherland, Nebraska, was a valiant member of the Sixteenth Illinois Infantry during the Civil War. It was a case of love at first sight. The bride, Mrs. Frances Flora SHULTZ, who has resided in the neighborhood of Corning for nearly forty years, capitulated when the gallant soldier boy of ë61 laid siege to her affections. They were married by Judge John F. ELLISON in his chambers and many friends and relatives witnessed the ceremony. They will reside in the Richfield Colony, near Corning, where the groom will purchase a home. The bride is a daughter of the late Dr. William COON, a pioneer of this county. Mr. Duffield is a cousin of ex-Supervisor Charles S. JOBE and a nephew of Mrs. STANTON, widow of the late Sheriff STANTON of Glenn County. Both have other relatives in this part of the State.
