Eda's birthplace:
Though Bill Jobe in the Journal and several Perkins sites lists her birthplace as Ft. Nineveh, Warren Co., LA - there is some questioning that I have regarding this. As of yet, I have NOT been able to find such a place in LA or place Caleb and Sallie there at this time.I am more inclined to believe one of three things -
- This is Warren Co., KY (or rather what would become Warren Co., Ky - from Logan Co., KY) as the Logans (Eda's mother's folks were still living in Logan Co., Ky at this time)
- This is Nineveh, Frederick Co., VA (which would later become Nineveh, Warren Co., VA) as the McKays lived in this area and Caleb's mother was a McKay
- This is in the area that would eventually become Warren Co.,TN
If anyone else has any evidence to support either or else a place in MO (which would have been LA territory at the time) - please write me at [email protected]

"William Glaze is the oldest man in the township at this time, aged 86; and Mrs. Perkins (Eda Jobe) is the oldest woman aged 85. She says she came here early enough to have Indians about her door, and to have to hide her meat from the wolves.”“Mrs. Perkins was the first white woman to reside in McDonough Co.,, Ill. She lived there two years, when she came to this (Hancock) Co.,. She learned to speak the Pottawatomie language, and can still speak the language, though rather broken. She resides at Pilot Grove, in this Co.,, and is in her 84th year."

Went to Nodaway Co, Missouri possibly to see her father, Caleb Jobe who is known to have been in MO by l8l7 from the Thomas Green Papers-later returned to TN
lived McDonough Co., Illinois
William Southward, along with Ephriam Perkins and William Jobe were in the area of Blandinswille, IL where William Southward was the 1st Sheriff of McDonough Township
Perkins and Job were in Schyler Co, but returned to McDonough in 1832
