He was a Baptist minister and died in 1938, buried at Shiloh Cemetery.

His second wife, my grandmother was Alva Duvall. They had five children. My father was Mitchell Jobe, their oldest son.

She also says James Robert Jobe's father was James Jobe

  Obituary

  James Jobe, age about 50, died the second week of December, 1888, at William Jackson's gin on Crow Mt. He fell upon the gin and was horribly mangled, dying in about three hours. He was a patron of the gin and was looking after some cotton seed when the accident occurred It is deplorable and regretable.
