-Keziah Byrd to William Harrison. They had a sheriffs sale for all the lands of John Byrd dec'd. William Harrison was the highest bidder. He bought this land for 160 silver dollars. It doesn't say how many acres. The land bounds Thomas Lanier, the said William Harrison, and the lands belonging to the estate of Council Jones. (This is the land that formerly belonged to Enos Byrd, dec'd.)

- Jacob Jones petitioned the March 1815 Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, reciting that his father, Council Jones, departed this life on or about Mar 1805 after first making his last Will and Testament wherein, among other things, he provided the tract of land whereon he then lived to his wife during her life, and after her death to be equally parted between his four sons, Jacob, Allen, Council and James, and that his mother hath lately departed this life, whereby it becomes proper that the said land should be parted. Said land was situated in Franklin Co., NC on the north side of Tar River on both sides of Pumpkin Run. The original of this petition is extant and bears the signature of Jacob Jones.
-STATE OF N. CAROLINA - FRANKLIN COUNTY) -Pursuant to an order issued from the worshipful Court of the County of Franklin, we, the undersigned Commissioners, together with the County Surveyor ........ laid off into four lots, viz:
- Lot No. 1. Drawn by Council Jones Jr containing 84.5 acres and valued at $320.00; - Lot No. 2. Drawn by Allen Jones containing 72.25 acres valued at $120.00; - Lot No. 3. NEWSPAPER OBITUARY - THE RALEIGH REGISTER
- "Jacob Jones Sr. died April 8, 1818 at his residence in Franklin County--age 89."
- Note: He owned a plantation and raised tobacco on the banks of the Tar River near the present town of Louisburg, N.C. He Prospered. We do not know his wife's name. We also know from studying old land deeds that Jacob acquired and donated the land for the very first Baptist Church constructed in the region. He lived to the age of 89,dying in 1818. On the death of Jacob Jones Sr., his entire 477 acres were taxed to his son, Jacob Jones Jr., who held it at least through 1834
