In the name of God amen. I Council JONES planter of Franklin County, State of North Carolina being weak in body but tho through mercy enjoying my reasonable sences and memory do constitute make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, as thoughing such worldly estage wherewith it hath pleased God to help me in this life. I devise give and bequeath the same as following--

In the first place I give and bequeath unto my dearly wife Susanna my land and plantation whereon I now live during her natural life, also one negro woman named Amy and her son Essex, also my plantation utensils with the household and kitchen furniture, also one mare named Flower, and one named Pol, also my stock of hogs, sheep, and four cows and calves, also my reading chair

ITEM. I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Peggy JONES one negro girl named Patty, also one negro boy named Charles, and one negro girl named Amy.

ITEM. I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Jacob JONES one fourth part of my land. Also one negro man named Lancaster, one negro boy named Ned and one negroe boy named Hallifax.

ITEM. I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Allen JONES one fourth part of my land also one negro man named Essex, son of Jenny, also one negro boy named Sam.

ITEM. I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Counsil JONES one fourth of my land. Also one negro man named Dick and one negro girl named Hester.

ITEM. I give and bequeath to my well beloved son James D. JONES one fourth part of my land. Also one negro woman named Nancy and one negro boy named Will.

ITEM. The balance of my estate that I have not herefore given away. I leave to be sold by my executors.

LASTLY, I constute and ordain my dearly beloved brother Joshua JONES my executor with my dearly beloved brother Jacob JONES my only and soul executors of this my last Will and testament, revoking and dis annulling all other Wills and testaments heretofore by me make. In witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and affixed my seal this 5th day of March 1805.
