DEATH CERTIFICATES 1853 - 1900

   The purpose of this section is to try and fill the gap in the Stanley Records caused by the burning of the burial register covering the years 1813 to 1900 inclusive. Since Bishops' Transcripts exist up to 1852 I have taken these details from death certificates of people who died in Stanley between 1853 and 1900.

 

BLOOR Henry - died 11th Jan 1893 at Morley (resident of Stanley). Age 45 years. Platelayer. Cause of death "Accidentally killed by being run over by a train on the Great Northern Railway."
CARTER William - died 22nd Mar 1875. Age 67 years. Coal Higgler. Cause of death "Bronchitis."
DANIEL Henry - died 23rd Sept 1900. Age 48 years. Banksman at colliery. Cause of death "Hepatic carcinoma."
FISHER George - died 11th July 1874. Age 29 years. Wheelwright journeyman. Cause of death "Phthisis."
FISHER John - died 7th May 1875. Age 64 years. Joiner. Cause of death "Paralysis 2 years."
FISHER Mary - died 24th Jan 1892. Age 82 years. Widow of John FISHER Joiner Master. Cause of death "Chronic Bronchitis & Apoplexy."
FISHER Thomas Isaac - died 12th Feb 1873. Age 23 years. Railway Labourer. Cause of death "Phthisis."
HART Ellen - died 24th March 1858. Age 43 years. Widow of Enoch HART agricultural labourer. Cause of death "Disease of heart."
HART Enoch - died 26th Nov 1856. Age 46 years. Agricultural labourer. Cause of death "Phthisis."
HART Joseph - died 16th Nov 1889. Age 57 years. Farmer. Cause of death "Chronic gastritis."
HARTSHORN Benjamin - died 30th July 1874. Age 88 years. Farm labourer. Cause of death "Old age."
HARTSHORN Elizabeth - died 6th June 1863. Age 77 years. Wife of Benjamin Hartshorn, Agricultural labourer. Cause of death "Inflammation of arm, debility."
