Fire Insurance Policy Registers 1777-1786


A list of Fire Insurance policies issued with the Sun and Royal Exchange Insurance Companies in the late eighteenth century. Almost any type of property could be insured, and the type of premises involved and their contents was normally specified in the policy. By the 1770s and 1780s, the Sun Insurance Company had an almost complete monopoly on insuring industrial properties and were available through office established in London.
