The Parish of Ballycor
The parish of Ballycor is bounded on the north by the parish of Glenwhirry, on the west by Rashee and the Grange of Doagh, on the east by Kilwaughter and on the south by Ballynure. There are three churches in the parish with records pre-dating 1900, and all three attached to the village of Ballyeaston. The Church of Ireland has christenings from 1866, marriages from 1845 and burials from 1888 onwards: the earliest records were destroyed in Dublin. This church was united with St. John�s Church of Ireland in Ballyclare.
First Ballyeaston Presbyterian Church, founded in 1676, has indexed baptismal and marriage registers, respectively, from 1813 and 1814 onwards. There is also a census record of the congregation from 1813 giving names, ages and occupations of all 388 families.
Second Ballyeaston Presbyterian Church, first established as a Seceder Presbyterian Congregation at the Five Corners at Rashee in 1756, has baptisms covering 1821-61, 1865-7 and 1883-1967, marriages 1826-41 and 1845-1936, burials, 1842-9 and 1901-18.
