The Parish of Derryaghy

The parish and town of Derryaghy lies between the Cities of Belfast and Lisburn in County Antrim, with the villages of Dunmurry and Lambeg located only a mile or so away. The parish church of Ireland was in ruins for many years and throughout the 17th century the parishioners attended Lisburn parish church, where many of their records are to be found. Derryaghy came back into use around 1696 and has baptisms for 1696-1763, 1771 -1806, marriages 1696-1746, 1772 and then from 1818, and burials 1696-1738, 1772-3 and then after 1823 with a few missing years exist. The Presbyterians of the parish attended churches in Lisburn or Dunmurray.
