Parish of Donaghendry


The parish of Donaghenry in County Tyrone is bounded by the following parishes, to the northwest Desertcreat and to the northeast Artrea and Ballyclog, to the east Clonoe and south by Tunnyniskan. Donaghenry Church of Ireland has baptisms covering 1733-4, 1754-68, 1802-4 and 1810 onwards; marriages 1733-5, 1754-68, 1763-1804 and 1811 onwards; burials 1735, 1754-68 and 1811 onwards. First Stewartstown Presbyterian Church has baptisms from 1814 onwards; I searched the register as far as 1864, see below for names. There are marriage records extant for the period 1820-27, preserved in MIC1P/460b (part of the Molesworth Presbyterian Church Records in Cookstown), which records marriages in the Tyrone Presbytery 1819-28 including, Moneymore, Cookstown(1820-28), Brigh, Stewartstown, Magherafelt 1819-28, Tobermore, Coagh, Cloveneden, Benburb, Dungannonn, Newmills and Vinecash Presbyterian Churches.
