The Parish of Islandmagee
The parish of Islandmagee is bounded on the west and the north tip by Larne Lough and on the eastern coastline by the Irish Sea. Only on the southwest extremity, is it linked directly to the mainly at Whithead, where it bounds the parish of Templecorran. The Churches of Islandmagee have few early records. The Church of Ireland has baptismal and burial registers dating from the 1870s, whilst the First Presbyterian Church has the earliest baptismal and marriages registers dating from 1829. Islandmagee Second Presbyterian has marriage records dating from 1848 and baptismal from 1854 onwards. These records can be supplemented by Gravestone Inscriptions, compiled by R. S. Clarke and published by the Ulster Historical Foundation in Belfast.
