The Parish of Killyleagh


The parish of Killyleagh is bounded to the north by Killinchy, Kilmore to the west and Inch to the south. First Killyleagh Presbyterian Church has baptismal and Marriage records dating from 1693 onwards with a large gap between 1757 and 1833. Second Killyleagh Presbyterian Church has baptisms from 1840 and marriages from 1846. The earliest registers for Killyleagh Church of Ireland date from 1813 onwards: baptism and marriages from 1813, and burials from 1823.

Killyleagh Church of Ireland Graveyard

Milliken: white marble tablet in surround in a high-railed enclosure with McCrea stone. Sacred to the memory of Samuel Milliken who departed this life 23rd May 1856 aged 35 years. Also two of his children, Allan John who in Philadelphia, U.S. 27th June, 1854 aged 5 years, and George Camac, 13th August 1856 aged one year. Nina his youngest daughter who died 18th April 1874 aged 17 years. Minnie Lousia, eldest daughter of Samuel Milliken, who died 3rd October 1881 aged 29 years. �He will gather his wheat into the garner�, St. Matt. III. 12. Also Anna Dorathea, wife of Samuel Milliken, who died 5th November 1887 aged 58 years. Nora Henrietta, second daughter of Samuel Milliken, Jun., died 29th January 1887. Samuel Milliken, Jun., died 11th February 1909. Margaret, wife of Samuel C. Milliken, Jun., died 3rd January 1930.
