The Parish of Magheradrool

The parish of Magheradrool is bounded on the north by the parish of Drumbo, on the east by Saintfield and Kilmore, on the south by Loughlinisland and on the west by Magherahamlet and Annahilt. Ballynahinch Presbyterian Church has early baptismal records 1696-1735, marriages 1696-1733 and certificates and testimonials 1715-1734, which include entries for Dromara, Kilmore and Clough. The Presbyterian Church of Dromara is an offshoot of Ballynahinch, being called the Western Outskirts of that Congregation. The first place they assembled for public worship was in the Stackyard of John Baxter of Crossgare about 1711. The Presbyterian inhabitants of the parish of Kilmore were called the Eastern Outskirts of the Ballynahinch Presbyterian Congregation, and were erected into a separate Congregation about the year 1715.
