Will of Robert Millikine of Belfast, Co. Antrim, 1643

�Robert Millikine his latter will being in perfyte memorie this 15th of agust 1643.�

�The inventorrie of the goods of the said Robert ther is tenn cowes and a heifer and a cowe .... from my leetenant in Dromor Lieut Dobbin is due to me twentie five shillings sterling and the half of on browne cowe that was vallued to twelf shillings sterling for my shaire due by the said Lieut James Dobbin ther is also a black horse and a gray meare vallued to five pounds sterling: both one acker of sowne land with corne vallued to fourtie shillings ster ther is due to my by John McClelland the younger for wine and expense ... ther is due eight shillings to me ..�

�I leave my brother Roger M [paper torn away here] one cowe and another to my brother James Millikin the Elder [paper torn away here] .... to my sister bessie a shuit to black cloathes to my brother Gilbert [paper torn away here] I leave to my brother John five yardes of broad cloath with my swords and duffle coat and sadle and pistoll and a cloak.�

�Debts due by me to William Clygstone seventeen shillings and foure pence sterling, likways I am due to Philip Moores wyfe some little money that I cannot call to mind I leave it to her owne discrettion likways due by me to my brother John seven shillings sixpence.�

�I leave to my wife Janet almoveables and unmoveables whatsoever belonging to me excepted what I have within written left to my friends�.

Will of Gilbert Mathews, Dunmurry, Co. Antrim, 1697

�I Gilbert Mathews of Dunmurry being infirm in body, but sound in judgment and memory, Do by this my last Will and testament dispose of my goods and chattels as followeth: -

I leave to my wife her thirds viz. the 4th part of Dunmurry Miln, which belongs to me, with the 13 acres rds of land now in the possession of my son John Mathews, and that 11 acres and a half now in the possession of Patrick Allexander likewise ----cott houses belonging to the miln land, which I now possess, all which lands during her natural life, she paying out of it the Lord�s rent, she shall begin to possess at my death, and after her death they are all to return to John Mathews. It is here to be observed that the kiln in Dunmurry is not mine, but belongs to my son John.

I leave bequeath: -
To my son John all then remainder of Gand Lease at my death, out of which he is to give �20 upon demand to my son Patrick Mathews or any lawful son of his. As for the lease formerly burdens, now in the possession of Mr --- I leave it to my son John.

I leave; -
To my grandson Patrick Mathews that Lease and lands lately belonging to Ransley in the ffall, with the condition that he neither sell or alienate nor make over said lease to any other but one of my own line, under the penal sum of �30 sterling, but of which lease I order him also to pay to my son Patrick the sum of �10 sterling on demand �.. or to any of his lawful children if they come personally to ask for it.

As to my goods, money or bonds, debts being fully once paid, and my funeral performed and church dues paid, as also Herrigals Paid, the remainder I leave as follows - the third part to my wife, another third my daughter of which he is to pay �10 to Patrick my son, �. or to his lawful, heirs on demand.

I leave: -
The other third part to William Pollock my grandson and his sister Margaret to be equally divided between them they paying �5. to my son Patrick Mathews.

I leave and bequeath: -
To my son John all my personal apparel �.. my saddle and bridle with all my arms both firearms and others.

I leave as Administrators of my Will: -
My wife,
My son John Mathews,
My son-in-law Robert Milliken.

Margaret Mathews of Dunmurry, Co. Antrim, 1712

�I Margaret Mathew�s relict to Gilbert Mathews of Dunmurry deceased, finding myself frail and weak of body though sound in judgment and memory do order as my last will ----"

"�10 to Patrick Mathew my grandchild now abroad in ye Army, if he come home to receive it.�

"To my daughter Margaret wife to Robert Milligan all my bodyclothes. And whatsoever else I have at my disposal I leave to my son John Mathews and my said daughter Margaret to be divided betwixt them as my son John Mathew shall see fitt."

Will dated December 16, 1709.

Endorsed. Lisburn January 6, 1712.

The within named Margaret Milligan this day in open court confessed ------ within Will to be a true Will.

�Know all men ... that we James Muligan, William Neale and Andrew McMuron of the Parish of Deriaghy , Co Antrim ... are ... firmly bound ... January 1718�.

�The condition of above obligation that above bounder James Muligan admor of the goods etc of Robert Muligan late of Deriaghy Co Antrim ... do exhibit an inventory in the Registry of Conner before 1st May next ensuing�.

�I Alexander Legg of Malone in the County of Antrim, Gent .... do make my last will and testament. I bequeath;�

Will of James Mulligan of Lisburn, Co. Antrim, linen draper

Desire my Executors to pay to my nephew Thomas Magee, and to my nieces Isabella Magee and Margaret Magee, �10 each.
To my said Nephew Thomas Magee my brown and blue coats with waistcoats and breeches I usually wear therewith, also my greatcoat, two wearing hats, two wigs by me commonly worn, two pairs best stockings, and two pair shoes, four stocks, my stock buckle, shoe buckles, and gloves. To my said niece Isabella a bedrug, and to my said niece Margaret two iron pots and one crook, all formerly my mother�s.
To my cousin Andrew Black �1 provided he survives me.
�100 to be called in for creditors and same to be put out at interest for use of my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth for her life, and after her decease same to be divided among my relations as follows: to said dearly beloved nephew Thomas Magee �29, to said dearly beloved Nieces Isabella Magee and Margaret Magee �28 each to my nephew Andrew Magee �10, to my beloved cousin Roger McClinchy �5; and in case any of my said nephew Thomas Magee and nieces Isabella and Margaret Magee die under age the legacy of such so dieing so go to the survivor of them.
If my dearly beloved wife to marry the said �100 to be immediately paid to the Legatees.
To my said dearly beloved wife Elizabeth Magee the residue of my effects for life, and after the decease she is to leave to my said nephew Thomas Magee my large bible.

Appoint John Kennedy of Lisburn, aforesaid, merchant, and John McCance of Dunmarry, Co. Antrim, linen draper, to be Executers.

Will of Elizabeth Mulligan of Lisburn, Co. Antrim, widow

To my three nephews Robert, John, and Henry Miller, and to my two nieces Jane, and Elizabeth Miller, sons and daughters of my brother John Miller, late of Lisburn, Co. Antrim, deceased, �15 each, in all �75 same to be put out at interest for them till they respectively come of age or be married.
To the Rev. Patrick Bohannon of Lisburn, aforesaid, �10.
To my friend William McCreery of Lisburn, �10.
To William Stewart, son of my friend St. John Stewart of Dunmurry �5. Residue of my effects to be divided among my said nephews and nieces in the following manner: �3 out of same for poor decayed housekeeper of parish Bohannon; then one third part to my nephew Robert Miller, and remaining two third parts between John, Henry, Jane, and Elizabeth Miller.

Appoint my very good friend rev. Patrick Bohannon of Lisburn, and John McCance of Dunmurry, Co. Antrim, linen draper, Executors.

Condition of bond the said Elizabeth Miller, administratrix of the goods of Elizabeth Mulligan late of Lisburn, Co. Antrim, deceased, will exhibit a true inventory of said goods.

�In the name of god the 27th day of October on thousand seven hundred & fifty eight I Gilbert Milligan of Belfast gunsmith�do make my last will & testament��

I beneath: -
�to my wife Allice Milligan dueing her life all my right & Interest & title in & to a Lease which I hold under ye Right Honourable Francis Conway now Earl of Hertford of a farm of Land part of Pollyglass in ye parish of Darraghy for 3 lives or 41 years�.. which I am intitled unto by a Declaration of Trust to me made by John Poage late of Belfast marriner and Martha Poage & afterwards by a sale of ye same by Susanna Poage widow of ye said John & said Martha Poage���

Also to my wife �all my goods & chattles whatsoever & at her disposal at her death only with this provisoe that when my daughter Margaret Milligan shall happen to marry & that with ye consent & approbation of her mother I order & appoint� that my said wife and Executors hereafter named shall raise out of ye readiest of my effect ye sum of �50 sterling & pay ye same to my said daughter as marriage portion.�

�Again after ye death of my said wife I order�. that my Lease aforesaid of ye lands of Pollyglass shall be divided share & alike betwixt my daughter Margaret Milligan & my Grandson William Hamilton son of John Hamilton by my daughter Mary and failing my said grandson to my daughter Mary to be disposed of by her as she shall think proper�.

�I Mary Mathews of Belfast�......
"a sum of fifteen hundred pounds bequeathed to me by my late father James Mathews I leave and bequeath the entire of the above mentioned �1500 to my brother Robert Matthews he paying to my Mother Jane Mathews for life the Interest of �750 per annum at 5% ........
