The parish of Dalmellington is bounded on north by the parishes Dalrymple, Coylton and Ochiltree, on the west by the parish of Straiton, on the east by the parish of New Cumnock in Ayrshire and southeast by the parish of Carsphairn in Kirkcudbrightshire.
