Our Deweese family settled early into Barren County Kentucky, sinking roots in the earliest 1800s. Many of these families remained there, marrying, raising their children, and dying, appearing decade after decade in the same location. Some few dispersed to other locations, near and far. We are still searching for some.
Sometimes finding our family on a census is a first clue, or a confirmation of a suspicion. Many times this is where we first learn the names of children or spouses, or discover someone had died or remarried during a decade. Many others are lost, born and died between census years, never recorded in this inaccurate, but oh, so helpful, once a decade record of the citizens of this nation.
