Wife Salina, and three daughters, died of Typhois Fever in 1888 leaving Joseph with a substantial family for which to care. By 1900 Joseph had remarried widow Lucy (Wade) Wilson and is recorded below with two young daughters mothered by Lucy)

Isaiah moved from the family home as early as possible and hired out as labor to a nearby farm. He resides close to uncles (son's of WIlliam McCoy) Christopher and Sterling and thier families)
