                         ALSOP DATA for KENTUCKY

Several Alsop and Alsop related families moved to Kentucky as early as the 1780’s.

Some documents may leave a trail (looking back) to the origins of these families.

The objective of posting this data is to try to confirm the parentage of these persons.

If you have documents that might help prove ancestry, such as marriage records, tax lists,

deeds, or wills, please e-mail me. David Alsup

Marriage Records Fayette County, Kentucky 1803-1809 Volume I

Raymond Sanders to Sally Alsop  Marriage Date: 07 Feb 1809

John Dye, B.; Personal and by guardian.

Marriage Records Fayette County, Kentucky 1803-1809 Volume I

Lewis Haller to Fanny Alsop    Marriage Date: 22 Jan 1809

Obediah Carter, B.; John Dye, stepfather.

Delphia Alsop married John Dye  on Nov 1, 1799, Caroline County, VA

Please note that:

1. Fanny Alsop who married Lewis Haller, had a step-father named John Dye.

2. Sally Alsop who married Raymond Sanders, had a guardian named John Dye.

 This leads to the following:

1. Delphia Alsop was the mother of these two females.

2. Delphia Alsop was not a daughter of George Alsop and Delphia___////Margaret Wise.

3. Delphia Alsop, must have been the widow of George Alsop.

4. Therefore, these two females were probably daughters of George Alsop & Delphia _?__ .

JACOB SHARROW, to SUSANNAH ALSOP, with Abram Fulkerson as surety. March 20, 1810.

Nellie Nichols gave consent for her daughter, witnessed by David Nichols and Abram Fulkerson.

(If Nellie was the mother of Susannah Alsop, her first marriage was to Edward Benjamin Alsop, who died in 1786). David Nichols may have been the second husband.

ALEXANDER JAMES to JANE ALSOP, with NACY ALSOP as surety, Nov 10, 1824.
