The project has also been registered with the Family Tree DNA project, which provides the kits and testing for project participants.
By registering as a family project, the cost of the kit is reduced for participants in the project.
Our goals for this project:
1. To establish if there is a common ancestor, and if AMASON, AMERSON, EMERSON or EMMERSON are branches of the same family tree.
2. To establish if AMASON, AMERSON, EMERSON or EMMERSON families, often living in the same locations, in the Southern U.S., are branches of the same family.
3. To determine early geographical origin of the AMASON AMERSON EMERSON and EMMERSON family.
4. To determine if there is Native American ancestry in one or more branches of the AMASON AMERSON EMERSON or EMMERSON family.
