Keown Cemetery
On the farm of Ellis Chinn, mailing address 448 Cook Ln Cromwell, KY 42333
Ellis Chinn is not related to the people buried in the cemetery and therefore
does not keep the cemetery up. He says if there are any relatives to those
buried in the cemetery and they contact him, he may keep the
cemetery in better condition.
Directions: Turn E onto 505 (only one direction to get there from) off of 231
between Cromwell and the Butler County line. Left if coming from Cromwell,
Right if coming from Butler County line. Pass through Select, and turn left
on the first street past a bridge (over a stream) called Cook Lane. Continue
up Cook Lane and turn in at Ellis Chinn Residence, 448 Cook Lane. Two electric
fences are between his house/road and the cemetery. Inquire at the house before
going up to the cemtery. Cemetery is extremely overgrown and animals are only
partially kept out.

There were many graves marked only with fieldstones, no engravings.

You can make out TM Keown's marker in the distance on right.
Note: in 1986 Glendon Warren noted all the JAMES graves in the cemetery.
He noted an Adrian V James, b. 12-27-1883 d. 11-29-1911, Co H 18th KY INF
(Military stone for the same Adrian James listed below. On the normal stone,
his name is indeed spelled Adrain.)
