My Research Results

Ruth Hart (b. 1850)

The Harts were catholics and the christenings of her 3 older brothers can be found in the registers but as yet, not hers.

On the 1881 census she was married and living in Parbold, her husband being a Railway Servant there. Her brother James Hart had married Elizabeth and was an unemployed Coal Miner living at 99 Gorsey Brow, Standish. Her brother Charles Hart was married to Mary and worked as a Stone Quarryman. They lived in Finch Lane, Appley Bridge. And her brother Joseph Hart was married to Sarah, working as a Farm Labourer and also living in a cottage in Parbold.

William Hart (b. 1804)

Their parents were William Hart and Nancy Hart (ne Fisher) of Mill Lane, Wrightington. On the 1851 census William is working as a Farm Labourer. William married Nancy Fisher on 5th May 1836 at Eccleston by Chorley but this was, in fact, William's second marriage. He had married for the first time at the age of 19, also at Eccleston by Chroley on 21st July 1823. His first wife was Margaret Heaton. Margaret and William had at least one child called Ruth, who, according to Wrightington Hall Catholic Death Register, died aged 4 and 2 months on 23rd July 1834. Margaret herself is listed as having died shortly after on 6th December 1834. This means that William and Nancy Hart named my gg grandmother after the child William and Margaret had lost.
